West Babylon Man Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges Following Police Investigation

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. — Suffolk County Police announced the arrest of a 24-year-old West Babylon man on charges related to the possession and promotion of child pornography on Monday morning.

According to officials, the investigation began after detectives received a tip through the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) hotline. Members of the police department’s Digital Forensics Unit subsequently launched an investigation into Mark Escorcia Jr.

On March 13, detectives executed a court-authorized search warrant at Escorcia’s residence on Herzel Boulevard in West Babylon. During the search, multiple electronic devices were seized for forensic analysis.

Following a detailed examination of the recovered devices, investigators determined that sufficient evidence existed to charge Escorcia with Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child and Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, both serious felony offenses under New York State law.

Escorcia was formally charged at the First Precinct early Monday morning and is scheduled to be arraigned later today at First District Court in Central Islip.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not released additional details at this time.
