Tesla Bursts Into Flames After Plainview Crash, 4 Injured

PLAINVIEW, N.Y. - A violent two-car collision left four people hospitalized and a Tesla fully engulfed in flames after slamming into a pole on Old Country Road Monday evening.

The crash occurred around 7:40 p.m., when the impact sent the red Tesla careening off the roadway and into the nearby pole, sparking an intense fire that quickly consumed the vehicle. All occupants managed to escape before the flames overtook the car.

Bystander video captured in the immediate aftermath shows the Tesla burning as black smoke billowed into the sky. First responders rushed to the scene, where four individuals were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries that officials say are non-life-threatening. A fifth person declined medical treatment.

The force of the collision scattered debris across a wide area, with one of the vehicle’s batteries reportedly landing over 100 feet from the point of impact.
