Flock Camera Stolen From Syosset Intersection, Two Arrested

SYOSSET, N.Y. — Two men were arrested after allegedly stealing a Flock camera and the pole it was mounted on from a Syosset intersection Monday evening, according to Nassau County Police.

The theft occurred at approximately 6:31 p.m. on August 31 near the intersection of Richmond Street and Willis Avenue, just off of Underhill Boulevard.

According to Second Squad detectives, two people traveling in a black Chevrolet exited the vehicle and removed a pole along with the Flock camera attached to it before fleeing the area.

Following an investigation, detectives located the Chevrolet on 3rd Street in West Babylon, police said.

Evren Daldal, 23, of West Babylon, and Dayton Schell, 22, of Ronkonkoma, were subsequently arrested without incident.

Police did not immediately disclose how investigators located the vehicle or whether the stolen camera and pole were recovered.

Daldal and Schell were each charged with third-degree grand larceny, second-degree criminal mischief and fifth-degree conspiracy.

Both defendants are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
