SUV Crashes Into Utility Pole, Flips Onto Roof In Plainview
PLAINVIEW, N.Y. - An SUV overturned onto its roof after crashing into a utility pole on Dupont Street in Plainview early Friday afternoon, leaving the driver with minor injuries.
The crash occurred at around 12:15 PM, drawing a response from the Nassau County Police Department, Plainview Fire Department, and Northwell Health EMS. Upon arrival, first responders found the vehicle upside down with significant front-end damage and a utility pole that was broken in half following the collision.
The driver of the SUV sustained only minor injuries, according to sources at the scene.
Wet road conditions may have been a factor in the crash, though the official cause is not known at this time.
Plainview Fire Department personnel worked to safely upright the SUV and reopen the dead-end commercial street.
As of 1:30 PM, there were no reported power outages in the area, according to PSEG Long Island.
