Pedestrian Struck, Pinned Beneath Vehicle in Oceanside Crash

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. — A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle and becoming pinned underneath it Friday night in Oceanside, prompting an emergency rescue response.

First responders were called to the intersection of Lawson Boulevard and West Windsor Parkway at approximately 9:50 p.m. following reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

The Oceanside Fire Department and Nassau County Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit responded to the scene, where an injured man was trapped beneath an SUV following the collision.

Firefighters and police officers worked to extricate the man and successfully freed him from underneath the vehicle.

He was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were reportedly serious, but not considered life-threatening.
