Firefighters Battle House Fire in Levittown; All Occupants Escape Safely
LEVITTOWN, N.Y. — A large emergency response converged on a Levittown neighborhood Wednesday evening after a fire broke out inside a home, prompting a multi-department response.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., the Levittown Fire Department responded to Rope Lane near Cotton Lane following multiple 911 calls reporting a house fire.
First responders arrived to find an active fire inside the residence and quickly requested additional resources to assist at the scene as crews began an aggressive interior attack.
All occupants of the home were able to evacuate safely before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
Mutual aid firefighters from the Bethpage, Hicksville, and Wantagh Fire Departments responded to assist, while the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management deployed its Mobile Emergency Response Vehicle (MERV) to support operations.
A significant emergency services presence filled the residential neighborhood as firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control. During overhaul operations, firefighters were seen carrying out a section of a door that had been heavily damaged by the intense heat and flames inside the home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
