Driver Arrested After Toyota Prius Overturns on Huntington Station Street
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. — A man was arrested after a crash left his vehicle overturned on a residential street late Wednesday night, with officers conducting what appeared to be a driving while intoxicated investigation at the scene.
Just before 10:20 p.m., the Huntington Manor Fire Department, Huntington Community First Aid Squad, and Suffolk County Police Department responded to an overturned vehicle on East 12th Street near Depot Road.
When first responders arrived, they found a red Toyota Prius resting on its side in the roadway. The driver was able to exit the vehicle and was not injured in the crash.
At the scene, Suffolk County police officers were observed administering a breath test to the driver before reviewing the results. Moments later, the driver was placed in handcuffs and escorted to the rear of a Suffolk County Police patrol vehicle.
Priority News Network captured the arrest on video. As of publication, Suffolk County Police had not released the driver's identity or announced any charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
Officers from the Suffolk County Police Emergency Services Section later responded to the scene and used specialized equipment to upright the overturned Toyota before it was removed from the roadway.
No additional injuries were reported.
