Heavy Smoke Erupts as Firefighters Battle Garage Fire in Bethpage

BETHPAGE, N.Y. — Firefighters quickly brought a garage fire under control Wednesday evening after heavy smoke was seen pouring from a detached garage at a home in Bethpage.

The Bethpage Fire Department responded just before 6:15 p.m. to a reported garage fire on Cambridge Avenue near Revere Lane.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke billowing from a detached garage located alongside the residence. Crews immediately stretched hose lines and began an aggressive attack on the fire, preventing the flames from spreading to the nearby home or neighboring properties.

The fire was brought under control shortly after fire crews arrived on scene.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
