JERICHO, N.Y. — Four people were injured, including an 11-year-old boy who was airlifted to a hospital, following a serious two-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway Sunday evening.

According to police, the collision occurred at approximately 5:58 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway near Exit 41 when a 2013 Toyota Highlander and a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban collided.

Police said three occupants of the Suburban, including an adult male, an adult female, and a 13-year-old boy, were transported to a local hospital with injuries.

An 11-year-old boy riding in the Suburban also suffered a serious leg injury and was airlifted to a hospital for further treatment.
