SUV Slams Into East Williston School, Driver Hurt

EAST WILLISTON, N.Y. — An SUV crashed into the side of a school in Nassau County on Sunday evening, leaving the driver injured and causing significant damage to the building.

Just after 6:30 p.m., Nassau County Police and the East Williston Fire Department responded to North Side School, located at 110 East Williston Avenue, following reports of a vehicle that had crashed into the building.

According to police, the SUV left East Williston Avenue after the 77-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency, before slamming into the side of the school. The vehicle crashed through a brick exterior wall and window, causing substantial damage.

The driver sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to an area hospital for further medical evaluation.

No additional injuries were reported.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
