Motorcycle Torn Apart in Merrick Road Crash; Rider Hospitalized
LYNBROOK, N.Y. — A motorcyclist was hospitalized Tuesday evening following a collision with a sedan that left the motorcycle severely damaged.
At approximately 8:05 p.m., the Lynbrook Police Department and Lynbrook Fire Department responded to Merrick Road near Park Place after reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan.
Upon arrival, first responders found the motorcycle heavily damaged and resting on the sidewalk following the impact. The sedan remained in the roadway, with debris from the collision scattered across the area.
Emergency medical services personnel rendered aid to the motorcyclist at the scene before transporting the rider to an area hospital.
The driver of the sedan was not injured in the crash.
Merrick Road was temporarily shut down near the intersection as first responders operated at the scene. The roadway has since been reopened to traffic.
