All American Hamburger in Massapequa Broken Into Overnight

MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. — Employees were left cleaning up shattered glass Monday morning after an overnight burglary targeted All American Hamburger, a longtime Massapequa staple, where an intruder or intruders smashed their way inside and stole cash.

The break-in occurred at approximately 4 a.m., according to one of the restaurant’s owners, who spoke with Priority News Network at the scene Monday morning.

The owner said an attempt was first made to gain entry through a rear window of the restaurant. After the window was found to be obstructed, a glass entrance door was smashed to gain entry.

Once inside, an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen, the owner said.

No employees were inside the restaurant at the time of the break-in, and no injuries were reported.

Employees were seen Monday morning cleaning up broken glass from both the rear window and the shattered side entrance door. Crime-scene tape also remained around portions of the property following the incident.

The full extent of the damage to the restaurant was not immediately clear.

Nassau County Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the break-in. Additional details have not yet been released.

Employees said they anticipate reopening the restaurant later Monday afternoon as cleanup efforts wrap up.

This is a developing story and will be updated as additional information becomes available.
