Two Injured After Collision Involving Geek Squad Van in Old Westbury
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — Two drivers were injured Friday morning after a collision involving a white SUV and a Best Buy Geek Squad van at a busy Old Westbury intersection.
The crash occurred shortly after 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Westbury Lane.
The impact left the driver of the Geek Squad van trapped inside the vehicle, prompting an extrication response from emergency crews. First responders from the Westbury Fire Department, Old Westbury Police Department, and the Nassau County Police Department responded to the scene and successfully freed the trapped driver.
Both the driver of the SUV and the driver of the van were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports from the scene.
The collision temporarily affected traffic along Jericho Turnpike while first responders worked to rescue the trapped driver and clear the wreckage.
The roadway has since been fully reopened, and the scene has been cleared.
