Mercedes Overturns in Baldwin KFC Drive-Thru, Driver Injured

BALDWIN, N.Y. — A driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after his vehicle overturned in the drive-thru of a KFC restaurant following a late Friday night crash in Baldwin.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:55 p.m. at the KFC located at 1221 Grand Avenue.

According to sources, a white Mercedes sedan crashed and overturned onto its roof in the fast-food restaurant's drive-thru. The male driver, who was the vehicle's sole occupant, became trapped inside the upside-down vehicle following the collision.

First responders arrived on scene and assisted the driver out of the overturned vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not believed to be non-life-threatening.

No other injuries were reported.

The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation by Nassau County Police.
